Annetts Returns to The Hive

The Bracknell Hornets are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Annetts as the Hornets Netminder for the upcoming campaign.

31 year old Tom Annetts is no stranger to Bracknell having iced at The Hive from 2000-01 with the Bracknell U16’s to the Bracknell Bees until 2015-16 having played over with other clubs in between with Guildford, Slough, Basingstoke and Oxford. For the past 2 seasons, Tom was in the net for 52 games with Milton Keynes Thunder with an average save percentage of 90% along with playing 2 additional games in the playoffs in the 2017/18 campaign with a save percentage of 83%.

After speaking to Head Coach Mark Saunders he said ‘I'm delighted to have secured Tom between the pipes for this upcoming season as our starting net minder. He has a wealth of experience at NIHL1 and also EPL back with the Bees and it's great to bring him back to The Hive in a Hornets shirt. A netminder of this calibre is hard to come by so wrapping him up quick was top on my list of priorities and I'm pleased he's agreed to sign with us.

Tom will provide us with some of the best netminding in the league and backstopping our team to be the best is what I know Tom is about. He will also be able to help guide our young netminders into this league and provide them with some of the experience he has gained in his career so far.’

Speaking on signing him, Tom Annetts said ‘I am excited to be back at Bracknell, where I started playing almost 25 years ago. I have known Mark for a number of years and I’m looking forward to working with him and becoming a tough team to play against.

With the new league structure it will be interesting to see how teams will perform, I do know that it will be a competitive league and week in week out should be a battle.
